Suzanne Schieltz
Suzanne is originally from Beaverton, Oregon where she swam for the Tualatin Hills swim club. After she graduated high school she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to attend college and swim for the University of New Mexico. She competed in swimming for two years and earned a degree in Photography. She then coached a couple of summer league teams, Albuquerque Country club and Four Hills Country Club. She moved on to coach at Lobo Aquatics for a year under Bill Christenson. At the end of 1999 she moved to Coral Springs, Florida to become the Head Age Group coach there where she worked for 4 years under head coach Michael Lohberg. There she learned invaluable skills on technique, training and how to organize a team. Suzanne had several swimmers make the Zone and All-star teams as well as her age groupers making sectional times and National top 16 times. In 2003 she returned to New Mexico to work towards a Masters degree in Elementary Education and finished her degree in 2005. She ended up coaching again at the newly formed Charger Aquatics at the Albuquerque Academy, where she helped run the age group and senior programs before moving to Durango. Suzanne’s goals for her swimmers are to gain the knowledge necessary to achieve their goals through stroke work, hard work and love of the sport of swimming.
Bobbie Hamilton
Bobbie is originally from Anchorage and Wasilla, Alaska where she grew up as a competitive swimmer and later coached for 11 years. Her past swim coaching experience includes both head club and high school coach, Region 3 High School Coach of the Year, and Alaska Swimming Board Member. Former swimmer achievements include multiple Alaska State Record Holders, High School Regional and State Runner-Up Titles, Alaska All-Star/Western Zone Qualifiers, Northwest Age Group and Senior Sectional Qualifiers and Finalists, National Top 16 and US Open Qualifier. Her goal is to help provide a top-level swim program while teaching the value of swimming as a life long fitness routine. Off the pool deck Bobbie and her family can be found snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking or splashing around in the local swim holes!
